It used to be the way it was everywhere. Broadcast stations, both TV and radio, began and/or ended their daily presentations by airing the national anthem. In the 1980s and 1990s when TV stations began airing programming around the clock, the tradition faded. But beginning today, 93 TV stations around the country will, once again, air "The Star Spangled Banner" every day.

WILX-TV announced it will present the song with images of landscapes, skylines and patriotic views, daily, at 3:30am, beginning Wednesday June 26th 2019.

The 93 stations owned by Gray Television will bring the tradition back to the local airwaves. Townsquare Media-Lansing's WITL-FM morning hosts, Banana Don & Stephanie McCoy, have begun their daily program with the national anthem and pledge of allegiance for years. It can be heard at 5:30 each day.
