Free, Walk-In Screenings Will Be Held At Health Department

June 27, 2018 is National HIV Testing Day. Shiawassee County Health Department is offering FREE and confidential walk-in HIV screenings. Walk-in screenings will be available at the health department on June 27th from 8:00am until 11am. Results are available in 25 minutes.

The CDC recommends that everyone between the ages of 13-64 get tested for HIV at least once. Women who are pregnant should be tested to protect their health and to prevent the spread of HIV to their baby. Those with certain risk factors should be tested at least once a year; these risk factors include:
• People with more than one sexual partner
• People that have contracted a sexually transmitted disease (STD)
• People who inject drugs
• Sexually active gay and bisexual men
The Shiawassee County Health Department offers free and confidential HIV screening year- round. To make an appointment please call 989-743-2368.
