SATA Informational Meetings Set Ahead of August Millage Elections

The Friends of SATA (Shiawassee Area Transportation Agency) is gearing up for the seven transportation millage elections to be held in Shiawassee County in August. Six of them are renewals of existing millages and one is new.
Organizational meetings will be held on Thursday, May 3rd at 4pm and 7pm at the SATA building, 180 N. Delaney Rd., Owosso. Each meeting will be no longer than one hour. Light refreshments will be served. Anyone needing transportation to one of these meetings should contact MaLissa Schutt at 989-725-9303.

The purposes of the Friends are: To inform voters about the needs of their neighbors who depend on SATA for their transportation needs; To involve those citizens interested in the continuation of public transportation options; To raise resources in order to educate voters about the issues; To recruit those who wish to "tell their story" about what public transportation means for them.

Owosso's new City Manager, Nathan Henne, was issued the oath of office by Mayor Chris Eveleth at a special swearing in ceremony at Curwood Castle on the evening of Wednesday March 28th.
