Come visit us at the 8th Annual Michigan Honey Festival on August 3, 2019 from 9am to 5pm, at the Harvey Kern Pavilion in Frankenmuth (601 Weiss St.). Admission is $5 and children 12 and under are free. The Michigan Honey Festival is more than just honey, their mission is to educate young and old, non-beekeepers and beekeepers alike about all things bees.

This year there will be two sessions of classes running for everyone from those who are curious about the role of the bee to experienced beekeepers. You can see various demonstrations including a bee beard, extracting honey, and assembling bee equipment. Heroes to Hives will also be there with a live hive demonstration.

There are fun things for the kids to enjoy and makes a great day for the whole family. Vendors will be selling honey, products made with things from the hive, beekeeping equipment, home-made items, gourmet snacks, jewelry, clothing, plants, and much more. Food trucks will be available serving a variety of goodness including ice cream featuring various honey toppings.

The Michigan Honey Festival was founded in 2011 with the sole purpose to educate the public about bees. Our board is made up of a great group of volunteers who would love a little extra help to ensure that we fulfill our mission in the best way possible. We are looking to grow our offerings to be more inclusive to all – non-beekeeper, beekeeper, farmer, and child.
