30th Annual Holiday at the Center Now Underway

More Than 90 Michigan Artists Works On Display

The 30th annual SAC Holiday at the Center is underway, and runs through Sunday, December 31. Over 90 Michigan artists are displaying and selling their original artwork, unique gift items and holiday decorations. Shoppers are sure to find gifts at affordable prices for everyone on their gift lists. SAC gift cards are available. The show is sponsored by Memorial Healthcare with outdoor decorating by Sunburst Gardens.

Special events during the show include the Children’s Day, Sunday, December 2, 2-4pm with art activities, refreshments, live music, book signing by Mary Morgan, gingerbread house display and a visit by Santa.

Three children’s gingerbread house classes are offered Thursday, November 29 from 4- 5:30pm, Saturday, December 1, 10-11:30am and also 1-2:30pm.

The Shiawassee Arts Center, located at 206 Curwood Castle Drive in Owosso, is open Monday through Friday, 12-5pm, Saturday and Sunday, 12-4pm. The Arts Center features the artwork of local and statewide artists in eight galleries including the Frieseke Gallery and a specialty Gift Shop. The public is welcome and there is no admission charge. SAC, which is celebrating its 46th anniversary in 2018, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage participation and appreciation of the arts. Numerous cars from a freight train are laying on their side after a derailment in downtown Owosso area of Cass and Cedar streets. We're told the derailment involves 10 cars total, but not all of the cars tipped over.
